Whilst all of them encompass various elements of the season to me, I think the one I feel most drawn to is Rose Bay by Ludovico Einaudi. A gentle wistful slumbering tone interjected by some shards of movement, moments of the siren of the sun calling us to wake up. It feels like gentle hope.
Florence is a close second. Chaos and frenetic energy, movement and life. The lyrics are apt too - "Daughter of the rain and snow", kind of perfectly explains spring.
Nicole, this is wonderful. The way you’ve woven the mix into a narrative—spring awakening, cinematic vibes, and all—is exactly what makes your work stand out. It’s not just a playlist, it’s an entire experience.
Film would have been my other choice of career had I not gone the graphic design route and I love that kind of lucid feeling that comes with a really great visual in a film or writing that equally draws you in. A depth of feeling something rather than just information to the brain.
Your words are creative fuel on the fire for me right now, Andy. Thanks so much.
Nicole, that’s awesome. Film and graphic design, they’re both about creating that emotional pull, right? That “depth of feeling” you’re talking about is exactly what makes storytelling so damn powerful. As a filmmaker myself, I can tell you, when you nail that visual or that moment that hits people in the gut, it’s like magic. Keep feeding that creative fire:)
Which song most feels like spring to you?

That’s what I’ve been hoping to create.
