I so hear you on those childhood sick days that were all about lounging and watching movies! I NEVER do that now. As you mentioned, it's the result of working for myself and not really having proper working days I can take off – I can't call in sick to anyone! And I sure as hell don't get paid sick leave! But I think a day exactly like that sounds incredible and I may just try to find the time for one soon ...
Also, I'm so happy to have connected with you on here, and I look forward to reading much more of your writing in future <3
That’s the sneaky bit, it’s not even a whole day. An extended breakfast really. A perfect life pocket of time. I picked a purposefully short-ish film. It’s do-able even if it doesn’t feel like it. And it had a certain shouldn’t be doing this / forbidden fun kind of feel that sparked a whole different kind of energy.
Nice to connect with you too. No pressure then 😂 I’m just putting together a paid subscriber offering that will include invitations to these kinds of life and responsibility rebellions, you’d be more than welcome to join! X
My first post of yours — what a fabulous romp! You’re a girl after my own heart — in too many ways to list but illustrator, gardener, luster of David Bowie, just for three. Subscribed.
Ahhhh, David Bowie. I cried over breakfast the day he died. Proper tears streaming down my face into my cornflakes sobbed. The kids were little at the time and couldn’t understand. It’s all David Bowie’s fault - Brexit, politics all of it turned to a total 💩 show after his magic left the earth.
So lovely to meet you, Brodee. Likewise glad to have found you! X
