Letters from V.V
Joyful ramblings and fictitious adventures to feed your soul.
During my time out from life (a two and a bit year forced hiatus owing to a head injury) I realised that our brains are busy not making true sense of anything, yet processing a bazillion thoughts per day. During all that it’s easy to lose focus on the simple, soulful, curious bits that make being human glimmer and shine in the most joyous of ways. I’m here exploring them and hope you’ll join me.
Life/love letters from me, to you.
-
Writing for the people whose souls are fuelled by staring out of the window and watching the sunset (but rarely have time to). For people who want to talk over a virtual kitchen table about things like what they’ve been watching / reading / listening to with a cup of something good. For the unserious people who will have a serious discussion about what colour a unicorn might be (lavender with a giraffe patterning in a peachy pink, silver and gold hair that shimmers, she might be an extra in a Chappell Roan music video, actually), and every living, breathing human being with a gentle and curious soul in between.
You…
…are kind spirited, open hearted, like playlists being made for you and adore getting letters, even if they’re just online ones. You get annoyed by the precise nature of recipes but love food and the way it brings people together and you like to read made up things about fictional people. You’re aching to see the world in ways that have become lost and unfamiliar to you and you have a deep longing for the ability to find deliciousness in the macro moments as well as savouring the big ones.
And me…
I’m Nicole (V.V) and I live in the UK in a place where the Peak District meets the Pennines in the lower north of England (that’s not a thing, but I think it should be) and find solace and inspiration in the landscapes that envelop us from “real life”. Days are spent wandering the moors, tinkering with the never ending curating of a garden the approximate size of a postage stamp, (unsuccessfully) taming teens, painting, messing up fabric with made up stitches and lately - writing.
My days are travelled with a husband, two teens and an out of hand writer crush on Taylor Swift (yes, really) and I’ve recently discovered that my superpower is sharing my unfiltered, actual self rather than a version I thought the world wanted.

*What is “the star jar”?
What it says on the tin. Well, jar. Every time a new subscriber joins Letters from V.V, I add a new star to “the star jar”.
It started as a simple visualisation aid and quickly morphed into a way of seeing you and all the magic I want to make for and with you. I’m so happy that you found me and it really is a privilege and joy that you want to be here.
When I write, the jar sits on the table in front of me and I write to each and every one of you. Some form of tangible connection in this online bookstore / cafe we call the internet.
